Liquid staking connects token holders, node operators and a receipt token, and each link needs clear terms on rewards, slashing and withdrawals. We draft and negotiate staking and liquid staking agreements that allocate operational risk between the parties. Regulatory treatment of staking is fact-dependent, and we flag those questions rather than assume an answer; pricing is a flat fee, quoted before we start.

How it works
- 1
Map the staking flow
We trace deposits, validator selection, reward flow and redemption.

Allocate the risks
We draft terms assigning slashing, downtime and smart contract risk.
- 3
Finalize with counterparties
We negotiate with operators or institutional users and deliver final terms.
Mistakes we help you avoid
The ones we see most often, and catch before they cost you.
- Avoided
Leaving slashing losses unallocated between the protocol, operators and stakers
- Avoided
Describing rewards in ways that imply a fixed return the protocol cannot promise
- Avoided
Ignoring the gap between protocol unbonding periods and promised redemption timing
- Avoided
Failing to address who controls withdrawal credentials and validator keys
Liquid Staking Agreement: questions founders ask
It is the set of terms governing how users deposit tokens to be staked and receive a liquid token representing their staked position. It typically covers node operators, reward splits, slashing and redemption. The exact parties depend on whether the arrangement is protocol-based or run by a single provider.
It depends on the structure, including who controls the assets, what the provider does and how rewards are described. SEC staff and other regulators have issued views on certain staking models, and those views continue to develop. We flag the relevant factors for your arrangement and do not give a general answer.
That is a contract question. Some arrangements put slashing losses on node operators up to a cap, some spread them across stakers and some use insurance or a reserve fund. The agreement should say clearly which applies.
Some do, but they usually need custody, accounting and risk terms beyond what a public protocol offers. That often means a separate services agreement with a provider. We draft those terms around the institution's requirements.
